Wordpress

So after hacking away at code, tackling Internet Explorer *grumblegrumble* Vivian and I got our theme working, and working half decently.  At this point, we immediately went and uploaded everything onto the hosting server and made sure that everything worked.  This was overnight.  When we woke up, we came upon an email that said “Are you guys around for Lindsay and I to call around 11-11:30?”  We didn’t know if this was going to be good or bad.  They had looked at the design before we uploaded it all but we were unsure whether they would like our last minute changes.  We waited around and got our response.  They loved it.

Since then, we’ve been working to change around smaller details and design aspects.  They’re little things but it’s a few more than a few things.  Hopefully once we get through them, we won’t have to change much later.  This was definitely an experience in working with Wordpress, trying to tackle it to do what we wanted, and figure out why some things would work at times when other things wouldn’t.

Appreciate pre-made themes.  Those designers had to tackle Wordpress to get them to work.  In theory it should be easy, but really it’s not.

(That reminds me, I still need to make a design for my own personal page, and I’ll probably migrate my blog over there as well.)
