It’s 11:05PM and I just woke up from a nice two hour nap. Sleep, such a mysterious thing. Most people spend about a third of their lives sleeping and for what purpose? They just lay there unconscious where nothing bothers them. That’s what happened this morning. I barely woke at 8:50 for my 9:00AM class and noticed that both my roommates were still asleep. I quickly yell at them to also wake up to get to their classes, especially Tim. He has probably made it to his 9 AM chemistry class half of the time and on time even less. I keep yelling at him to go to class because he doesn’t stop complaining about chemistry. I head out the door at 9:03 for my own two hour class. Classes start five minutes late and end five minutes early. Two minutes to class? I’m not going to make it. Oh well. I walk casually to my 8.01TEAL classroom where I find the professor spinning a bicycle wheel and letting it roll on the ground. We go through the concepts of torque again and luckily I partly understand him now thanks to Kate and Caroline. That is… until he started on gyroscopes. I get continually more and more lost and class is over. We get let out at 10:55 and I walk back home after grabbing myself a pizza and chicken finger breakfast. (Healthy, yes, I know.) I make it home and what do I find? Kevin STILL sleeping. I yell at him to wake up, and he barely rolls out of bed to go on his computer until his next class.
How is it that the person who went to sleep latest woke up earliest? When your roommate is kind and yells at you to wake up, you should wake and at least try to make it to your next class. Don’t just go back to sleep until he comes back to yell at you to wake again.

Sitting around in the 424 lounge, we were all talking all sorts of nonsenses. Suddenly Pallavi walks in and asks Kevin for help. Okay, we all think this might be a physics problem. It was just after mastering physics was due. “So, I click on….” Okay, it’s a computer problem. “…the frozen…” Frozen computer? Restart! Read More

I wake up at 12:40 and realize, I need to get dressed and get down to the lobby. I hurry to brush my teeth and change. Oh no, it’s raining outside, I need an umbrella. I should probably get shorts. A drink would be good to bring. I need a bag to hold all this. I scramble to gather everything I need; I only forget one important thing: my camera.
At 1:00 we all met in the Burton-Conner lobby. All of us except for maybe two are freshmen. We walk all the way to the Kendall T stop and Itaru is surprised. “Never have I been in a group larger than like three where everyone had a CharlieCard.” All of us climb on the Red Line and change at Park St. to change to the Orange Line where we get off at the Wellington stop so Itaru can call the people to ask for a shuttle. We wait there for probably a good 20 minutes before Itaru calls again only to find out we missed the van. We wait another few minutes and a green minivan pulls up. We clamber into the van. It’s 10 of us plus two more people and the driver trying to fit into a 7 passenger van. No need to say it was a tight squeeze. We finally make it to Read More

I finish my refresher on how to belay in the floor lounge and search for something to do. Then Mark comes around and asks me if I’m doing anything. I question why, but go along. We head down to the second floor to grab a box from Jeremy’s room. The Settlers of Catan. I always wanted to learn how to play the game, but never had the chance, until now.
We venture back up to the fifth floor and set up the game. Itaru gives me a quick lesson on how to play and we begin. Other people from the floor watch us for a bit and Kristina even asks if there were animals other than sheep. We didn’t hear her and continue playing. Jeremy, Mark, and I plot how to defeat Itaru who takes a quick lead but who ultimately ends up winning the game. I enjoyed playing.
Know what I took from this? Do Not trust random new people who will use you to try and win the game.

As i sit here again marveling at the architecture within the Boston Public Library McKie courtyard with my small mocha latte in my left hand and my computer in front of me, do you know what I’m thinking? I should blog about this. And so, here it is, my second time to the library and my second post. And the second time I burnt my tongue on the hot coffee.
The BPL is amazingly beautiful, and is a great remanant of old architecture mixed with a new wing, all filled with books, books, books. (I’ve got to start reading more) There are all sorts of literature here, especially of a different nature than the MIT libraries. I.E. Anne of Green Gables, for Caroline. There is even a microtext section where it’s on film and you project it onto a screen so you can read it. They even have art exhibits here. I really like this library. Only complaint is slow internet…although anywhere is slow compared to MIT.
I will need to bring my camera next time to document. Now time to finish writing my first post and design the blogsite.

Hi all. I’m Jason and it is 6:41AM right now. This will be a blog about me and my life revolving around MIT. I just wanted to get a post in before I went to bed for the day. You will be able to follow me as I go through my years here on earth. To be continued later when I’m not about to collapse from exhaustion.
Continued: A quick introduction to me: My name is Jason, I’m 19, and I’m a freshman at MIT. I plan to be an electrical engineering and computer science major I began this blog for two main reasons. It will be a good outlet for anything i need to get off my chest, and well, everyone else is doing it, so I thought I’d join in on the fun. I enjoy many things and dislike few. I may rant. Who am I kidding? I will rant. I will present everything as I see fit, but will stick with the truth. I will blog.
I hope you enjoy this and I hope I keep my motivation to continue blogging.
